BW 3.5 --> 7.3: Data Services as Source System - Whats new?

Hi everyone,

since BW 7.3 appeared and DS is not an External System anymore, the question that comes up is: What is the difference between the prior DS integration as an External System and now as an integrated Source? What is meant with the empty phrases "more flexibility" and "tighter integration"?
